Walking
Walking to find a good place to work, out of the sun,
hoping for a spot in a shadow.
(At the Old Chatham Sheepheding Company.)
The opening reception
Last night's opening reception was amazing.
Each guest's presence was felt,
each moment was meaningful.
At the gallery on opening day, September 11, 2009.

Favorite worn armchair
The lamp next to my chair is already lit; it will still be a few hours before the sun brightens the living room window. Nevertheless, I scribe the first words of the day with the indelible black India. My writing hand is still a bit stiff. As it loosens, the “As” and “Gs” come much more smoothly, and quickly, and gradually I am lost in a world of thee and thou for at least the next eight hours.
Bedroom workroom
A room for sleeping, sewing, drawing of lines, and calculating measurements for bookbinding. Dreaming, too.
